Chant Wire Rope Grips
Morgan City Rentals Wire Rope test bed in Golden Meadow is equipped with
a Chant Wire Rope Grip Tensioner testing clamp. This device is designed to
grip wire rope from light loads to ultimate breaking loads. The wire rope grip
works on the wedge principle, as the wire rope is pulled; each half of the wedge
set squeezes the rope. The wedge set rides on precision roller bearings held in
harden raceways. The harder the pull, the more the wedges grip, all with out
damaging the wire rope.
